Below: Weekend things to 'break' your bank... retail temptations this weekend from ASOS... Love these multi-coloured brogues (was £45 (i got mine at his price! yay!) but recently the price went up to £50! Yikes!). Fabulous combination, great for cropped pants geek chic:-P

Below: From geek to ethnic... love these t-shirts with graphic ethnic prints too (£14 each)

Weekend Things To 'Break' Your Bank: ASOS New Arrivals

Okay maybe these weekend temptations will not set your bank account into a deficit... so you can joyfully enjoy some online shopping with minimal guilt. These ASOS new arrivals are simply a delight while being very well priced.

I am already in love (and ordered) the Grey Navajo Print T-shirt which features 'hand-sketch' patterns on the yoke of the t-shirt. Love the position of the print which wraps around the neck and front, an unusual placement of t-shirt prints! Will be cool to pull off an ethnic look with cropped skinny pants:-) Love it.

And if you have some biceps and pecs to show off, grab that Vest With Ethnic Print on the front and solid black panel on the back, very graphic with a tribal twist:-) All these to set you back £14 each... you cannot complain.

My biggest love for this week has to be these ASOS Multi Coloured Leather Brogues in shades of tan and chocolate and black tones... lovely lovely panelling effect, it's an instant dandy hit in my books! Love the textured and smooth leather combination:-) The wooden sole is also endearing for a classic design, but done in a fun sartorial way. Brogues are huge this season, so this one is a must buy especially at only £45 (the price went up on website to £50!... Yikes)! (Just ordered the brogues as well! I forsee this to be a hit, just like the ASOS Anchor Buckle Belt (SOLD OUT)... Hurry before sizes run out:-p)

And if you need one more reason to indulge, ASOS ships FREE internationally:-)

(Click here for some weekend retail therapy)

Okay, I am off to make some mouse clicks and enjoy some shopping cart filling time... Happy weekends.

(One little trivia: ASOS = As Seen On Screen... in case you are wondering. ASOS started out as a shopping sight offering pieces that looked similar or was what celebrities wore.)

My Shopping Conquest #121

Below: Spring Summer 2011 is a 'belt tightening' season!

Belts Ahoy! Spring Summer 2011 Is 'Belt Tightening' Season...

Belts are often one of the most overlooked clothing item on a guy. And no, not all belts work magic and fit all looks. Belts are as equally important as all your other wardrobe pieces (the belt is worn at a strategic position of your body, very visible!). Besides serving a functional purpose of preventing you from indecent exposé (trousers falling down!), it is a fun item that lets you enhance your personality or add depth to an outfit. Forget logo belts (those are for occasional flaunting of your swelling bank account), wear belts that takes on the season's trend or expresses a certain mood you are feeling.

This Spring Summer 2011, I am feeling all the colour blocking craze seen on all levels of fashion. I am also dreaming of setting sails to the high seas, just in time for summer! So here's my latest acquisition for this 'Belt Tightening' SS2011 season:
1) Zara Narrow Yellow Leather Belt – SGD59.90
(Comes in red, orange and blue as well, most affordable colour blocking! Get all colours to mix & match)

2) Jil Sander Orange Red Textured Leather – SGD390
(The red is almost neon!)

3) ASOS Brass Anchor Buckle Leather Belt – £15
(I love anchor motifs)

4) ASOS Twisted Rope Belt – £15
(Sailing chic, where's my yacht?!?)

What are your 'belt tightening' finds this season?

available at all Zara Boutiques. Jil Sander available at Club 21 Mens, Four Seasons Hotel. ASOS available at www.asos.com

My MANy Bags Lookbook #25

My Marine Style: Spring Summer 2011

I have blogged about the nautical influences in Spring Summer 2011 collections. The key to wear your sailing inspired pieces was not to be too literal.

Here's my take on My Marine Style, merging city and the sea, dandy and the sailor.... Khaki earth tones with sea faring blues, nautical iconography with classic plaids and stripes... it's all about contrast.

Dries Van Noten's Contrast Checked Sleeve Cotton Shirt, Junya Watanabe's Cropped Trousers with Fold Up Contrast Hem and Swear's 'Chaplin 1' Stripe Canvas Lace-ups get some classic dandy styles going. Burberry's Twisted Cord Necklace and ASOS's Brass Anchor Buckle Leather Belt adds a hint of high seas adventure. Finally, a touch of blue (From Prada's Canvas Briefcase) to round off the nautical flair... and my Marine Style is complete:-) City or the sea, here I come!

So what's your marine style this season?

Sunday Evening 'RETAIL' Research: Online Edition

What better way to spend boring Sunday evenings than to trawl the internet and have some virtual retail therapy (all in the comfort of aircon, cool music and some magazine inspirations:-P Literally without breaking into any sweat, except when you over-indulged over your shopping basket!)

Well, I was browsing thru a few of the familiar online shopping sites... and one of my new favourites has to be www.asos.com. Yes, I may faced some prior problems with the online store, but they have resolved matters satisfactorily and hence let's bury the hatchet. To be honest, I just cannot resist the wide selection and most of all, the unbeatable prices and FREE shipping internationally! Where else can you get £10 trousers and £15 leather belts? Only ASOS!

Here's the gems I uncovered within the last 2 hours... ooooh... how I love those ASOS candy coloured suede brogues (Only £50)! I have blogged about the rising popularity of brogue style shoes... These ASOS brogues will get you on the trend wagon while not burning a hole in your pocket. Love the sky blue suede version, so dandy and cute! The pistachio green colour is equally appealing with sophisticated but not over the top colour. Imagine some smart chinos or tailored shorts and you are all Geek+Dandy chic for summer!

(PS. if you have more budget, these Church's Bi-colour brogues I blogged about a while back are also not to be missed!)

Below: Brogues are huge this season!

While on the topic of cuteness... how about some 'Comme Des Garcons' style polka dot tees to match those candy coloured shoes? I love these B-Store polka dot t-shirts (Only £39), adding a spot of colour and quirkiness to any weekend ensemble. I want! Cuteness rules!
