Fusible Applique' Art on Scrap-bags Triple Squares Pattern

I met Pam Ring at Surtex, she is a mixed media artist. The poster below is an example of her work. We agreed to do an artist swap at the show. I took inspiration from her work to design a bag for her.

I created the house image (on the bag) in adobe illustrator and printed it onto printable fabric, the fabric brand was Printed Treasures by Milliken.

Pattern: Scrap-bags Triple Squares pattern.

Bag Back

After creating the bag for Pam. I was intrigued by this Fabric Inkjet printing technique and so I took one of my gouache portaits and scanned it into my computer and then printed it on the fabric and created this bag.

All of the fabrics shown in this post are from Lonni Rossi's Paint Box Collection from Andover fabrics.

Trend Alert - Peace Sign Trend - Free Applique Download

Peace Sign Trend

We've noticed the return of the peace sign! Being a child of the 60's it takes me back in time and puts a smile on my face. It's retro . . . yes. But if we think about it, it might remind us to allow peace in our personal lives, which could spread to our families, communities . . . and who knows?

If you'd like to incorporate the peace sign into your next project please visit our Free Stuff page and download a pdf file free with instructions for this fusible applique version.

We think our Triple Squares Scrap-bag™ (shown) is great place to feature the applique.

Winter Inspiration from the Scrap-bags Studio

I don't know what the weather is like where you live. But, here in Minnesota it's very BLACK and WHITE. It's cold and snowy and a bit gray. I think it's beautiful.

I've chosen some bags that reflect those same qualtities. Sorry I don't have the fabric info to share this time. I used my STASH and scraps don't always have the selvage info.

If you live in the north and are not a fan of winter like I am, don't worry . . . out of winter comes spring. It never fails. Every night after work, I peruse the new seed catalogs that have arrived!
