Here's my favourites, the best of the best of the season...

1) Prada Espadrilles Brogues in Tobacco
This pair of shoe needs no introduction. It’s on everyone’s wishlist and every Prada store’s customer wait list. Combining high street style thick rubber soles with elegant classic brogues and adding a touch of summer with espadrilles jute rope trimmings... this is the perfect example of a winning design for hybrid shoes. Quirky without being cheesy, statement making without being overly brash, this shoe is an refreshing twist from all the conventional shoe designs. Good job Prada! I am sure these will help cash in and surpass the 150% higher net profit of 2010 (that WWD just announced) for your next financial year:-P

Another hot shoe on every guy’s wish list has to be something from the red soled family of Christian Louboutin. Every fashion fan dreams of wearing some red soles any day. Yes, Christian Louboutin shoes are like holy grail shoes for luxury shoe enthusiasts. Everyone wants one pair. With the launch of a mens collection, guys have joined in the lusting for Christian Louboutin shoes as much as their female counterparts.

I am one of them. And I want one pair. No make that 2 now:-)

Yes, welcome my second pair of Louboutins after my beloved studded Freddy Flats. Meet my new Christian Louboutin Rantus Orlato Pony Multi-Stripe Trainers, acquired during my recent Bangkok trip in mid January. (Never expect myself to locate a pair in the land of smiles since there were no Christian Louboutin boutiques in Bangkok! Cloud 9, a multi-label store in Gaysorn Plaza stocks a small selection of Louboutins.)

Love the contrasting black & white houndstooth and zig zag patterns, all trimmed with red patent leather piping for a striking pop of colour. Snappy and graphic, it's eye catching in a monotone way. The haircalf material also adds a lush and tactile appeal while softening the street edge of these highly coveted shoes.

I am in shoe heaven! Shoe treat yay!:-)

Christian Louboutin Studded Shoes: Airport Security Woes

A week ago, before I embark on my new year's holiday to Bangkok, I was asking on my facebook if I will run into any problems with airport security wearing my Christian Louboutin Studded Freddy Flats. Guess what, my fears were not unfounded... it seemed someone in the USA did have a close encounter with the airport securities with these famed and sexy dangerous footwear. TSA Doesn’t Like Christian Louboutin’s

We have heard of TSA officials giving grief to passengers passing through security with spiked Christian Louboutin sneakers in the past, but thankfully tAz Arnold aka ti$a took a quick pic to document the harassment. According to tAz, TSA officials attempted to confiscate his $1245 Christian Louboutin Rollerboy Spikes citing that they appeared to be “weapons.” We checked the TSA regulations website an apparently you can get away with metal scissors, hand tools including screw drivers if less than 7″ in length, but apparently 1/4 long “spikes” with dulled tips spaced evenly across a shoe is a problem.

Thankfully ti$a and his $1200+ shoes did make it through but be warned that the next time you go through security, TSA may be out to take away your dignity and your shoes.

TI$A, next time we suggest you rock your collab kicks you did with Stamp’d LA and check the Christian L’s.

Shoes To Lust For: Spring Summer 2011

In fashion, you have to plan ahead. Fashion never stops for anyone, so it is imperative for the discerning shopper to know your next seasons' purchase even before the current season is over. Fall Winter 2010 is coming to an end... end of season sales are in full force. So what better time than now to peruse over what's coming. Plan your shopping budget, instead of 'throwing away' money on items that may just be passing trends when current season ends. Save some bucks for new seasons offerings no matter how attractive the sale discounts may be:-) Or buy into items that will stay relevant for new seasons to come. That's the sale shopping strategy I am adopting this year:-)

So here's a look at upcoming shoes that I am loving. Top on the list are thoese Burberry Prorsum sandals that I have lament over since it first appeared on the runway many months ago. Now it is time to lust over them and plan to buy them if the price and fit is right!

Next on the list are those Neil Barrett Suede And Nappa Leather Hybrid Sandals/Chukka Boots which will match exceptionally well with skinny jeans. Urban warrior off duty anyone? If covered designs are still too uptight, Dior Homme's modern Leather Strap Ankle Sandals are a great alternative for modern footwear.

For a touch of sporty attitudes, Raf Simons Lace-up Leather Trainers are beckoning out to me. I love the crazy, displaced positions of the shoe laces which creates a unique design. These trainers will serve you well on and off the running track:-P

I also love the fluorescent orange and blue soled Jil Sander lace-ups for a spot of colour shock value completed with sartorial elegance. These shoes make a statement without being vulgar. And colour is a key trend for Spring Summer 2011! Wear with shorts or rolled pants:-)

Speaking on lace-ups and smart shoes... Christian Louboutin's Denim Studded Rollerboy will always have a special place in my heart. Versatile and eye catching, it's a shoe that warrants envy eyes anywhere you tread to. Next up, how about Distressed Patchwork Suede Lace-ups from Officine Creative which will make any summer shorts look complete with a dash of casual debonair:-P

Lastly, Loewe's White Leather Brogues with Wooden Soles will be what I will turn to for smart footwear to round off smart weekend ensembles... Hamptons or English charm?

If you have been following and liking my post on the Denim Rollerball Spikes, then these new images of Christian Louboutin's Spring Summer 2011 Mens Shoe Collection are going to induce even more lust!

A fan of the Freddy Flat styles? Next Spring Summer, you can expect lots of new variants of these coveted lace-up design in new canvas material or leather effects. From beige and blue coloured canvas styles to 'bleached effect' on leather versions, you are sure to find one to your liking.

What about those studded Louis Spikes Sneakers? A white patent leather version will be here to tempt you while adding more polish to these 'tough luxe' shoes! Besides regular studs, there will also be a new spiked design called the Louis Pik Pik, with bigger and meaner studs in gold and silver! It's definitely time to express more of your bad boy attitude!

I have been a fan of the Rollerboy ever since I spotted so many celebrities wearing the famed spikes loafers, such as the very cute Brad Goreski of Rachel Zoe Project fame (who till this day, is in my opinion, the guy who pull off the shoe most outstandingly!) I had wanted to grab the black leather version, but the price and the quick sell out and deter me from getting my hands on this elusive shoe.

Fret not, next Spring Summer 2011, Christian Louboutin Rollerboy Spikes not only make a return, but it will be available in denim fabric! More casual than its leather 'siblings', this denim fabric version combined with a wooden coloured sole makes a perfect companion amidst summer heat. Impeccable for dressing down but still showing off that grunge attitude. This instantly makes it to my 'must have' list for next Spring Summer 2011. I have dreamed and wished for wood coloured sole to be introduced to Rollerboy designs, after seeing how it looked amazing on the white studded Freddy Flats... my prayers have been answered now! Love, love, love!

Gucci is also now offering their own interpretation of the trend as well. Giacomorelli's cool studded slip ons has got everyone hot on some leopard trail. I got my Comme Des Garcon white leopard print hair calf slip ons a few months back, I need another pair in brown tones. So which ones are you 'hunting' for next season?

I want a pair of leopard print shoes with studs now. Who said men and leopard prints do not go well together and screams 'Drag queen'.

Don't you adore how this gentlemen infused his classic style with some 'animalistic' allure via his leopard slip-ons? The studs on the back of the shoes are most interesting. The closest I can find resembling a pair like that are Christian Louboutins Fall Winter 2010 Rollerball in leopard haircalf leather and gold studs. My Louboutins wishlist just got longer...

Look who's back? Those lean and mean studded Christian Louboutin Rollerball shoes comes haunting at your bank account yet again with leopard or black & white stripe haircalf leather for next Fall Winter 2010! There's even gold studs for added bling now! Since these androgynous shoes always recurs in the mens collection, will the boys get a similar version as well? Please let us have a white leather version. I do not even mind the black and white haircalf! I love Rollerball! The red trimmings make the shoe pop:-P

The now signature Louis Trainers also gets a whole new makeover in suede tones of sandy beiges and blacks, all adorned with silver studs we so love and covet (looks like you can now take a trip to Abu Dhabi in these suede shoes, like those SATC girls!)
